Artist Bio

I am a landscape and architecture photographer based in Denver, CO since 2010.  I enjoy the challenge of creating a unique composition that simplifies the world around me, allowing the viewer to experience what I was feeling at that point in time.  I enjoy sharing my love of photography with others through workshops and presentations.  This has led to me being asked to serve as president of local and state photography organizations.  The artist community is amazing, it is so much fun building relationships with artists and collectors.  So much fun in fact, that I opened my own brick and mortar gallery and began building a network of loyal artists and collectors from around the world.

Education:

2004-2008 Portland State University - B.S. Civil/Structural Engineering

1993-1997 Reed College, Portland Oregon - B.A. Political Science (Worked in the Art Department taking photos of exhibits and preparing slides for lectures).

Exhibitions/Collections:

2017-2018 “Cuba - Photographs from the Streets of Havana & Vinales”, Traveling group exhibition that toured the US via privately owned art galleries.

2016-Present “Professional Photographers of America - Loan Collection”  This is a collection of the best of the best from each year of the International Print Competition held by PPA.  I have several of my pieces in this traveling collection.

“Cuba-Photographs from the Streets of Havana & Vinales” - Four of my images and a short article were selected for this photo-book that accompanied the touring show.

“How to Photograph Your Art” - A two hour video presentation for artists on how they can capture professional quality photographs of their art for social media, website, giclees, insurance, art shows, etc.

Gallery Work:

2020 - Judged Louisville Arts Association National Photography Show, Exhibited as judge

2013-2016 - Opened and managed Gallery at Studio J in the Arts District on Santa Fe, the arts district in Denver, CO.  Curated the gallery and promoted monthly exhibitions/receptions for artists from all over the U.S.

2015 - Judged Lone Tree Performing Arts Center - International Photography Show

2013 - Won Best of Show at Lone Tree Performing Arts Center - International Photography Show
